Responsibilities:

Interns at the Tiger Academy will fall under the “Student Support Services” role largely assisting with the Healthy Tigers Initiative. Tiger Academy is committed to providing a school environment that enhances learning and assists each student with developing lifelong health and wellness practices. Healthy Tigers programming fosters a school environment that promotes and protects children’s health, well-being and ability to learn by integrating healthy eating and physical activity into the everyday practices of the Tiger Academy. The Tiger Academy Student Support Services Intern will work alongside professional staff to provide guidance and programming to students and faculty in the areas of nutrition and food service, health and physical education, family support services, after-school curriculum and classroom activities.

We are searching for qualified applicants in the targeted fields of, but not limited to, Early Childhood Development, Education, Education Administration, Community Health, Physical Education, Recreation Management, Public Health & Public Policy and Psychology.

We are interested in a part-time intern at this time. 

Requirements:

Intern candidates who agree to participate in YMCA internships assume responsibilities for learning about the nature of the work of the YMCA, its aims, policies and procedures. While actively associated with the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, he/ she agrees to exhibit our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of work as an intern with the YMCA and abide by all YMCA policies, rules and procedures. Additionally, the intern agrees to fulfill all assigned tasks to the best of his /her ability, making no significant changes in the established schedule without prior knowledge of the YMCA and partnering organization.
